At the start of Fae Farm, the whirlpools sprinkling the ocean outside Azoria block off a sizable portion of the game. You won't be able to meet any Fae romance options in Fae Farm or pick up shipping contracts until you clear the whirlpools. To clear them, you will have to push through the Saltwater Mines and find Neppy the Water Sprite.
